If I could only ever wear one type of lip product, it would 100% be lip gloss. I’m so glad that lip gloss has had some sort of major comeback with every brand launching glosses right now. Revolution launched their Lip Boutique back in the spring of 2019, with six different formulas; Sheer Lip, Matte Lip, Matte Lipstick, Creme Lip, Blushed Satin Matte and Diamond Lustre Crystal Lipsticks. I bought one of the Sheer Lip formula shades as I knew I liked Revolution gloss formulas, and decided upon the Revolution Piece of Cake Sheer Lip Gloss.
Revolution Piece of Cake Sheer Lip Gloss
“Boss your gloss! Our Sheer Lip line-up will have you obsessing over this finish all over again. Good for those who want a gloss packed with pigment. This glossy formula glides on to deliver buildable colour, allowing you to easily switch from a sheer wash of colour to a statement glaze. And you can forget any stickiness. A great formula for people who suffer with dry lips but want colour – sheer brilliance!“
The Revolution Lip Boutique features an insane ’88 shades of nude lips’, and the whole concept behind the Sheer, Matte and Matte Lipstick collection is genius. Once you’ve found a shade you like, you can purchase that shade in all three formulas instead of each formula having a completely different shade name range. So if for example, you love the Revolution Piece of Cake Sheer Lip Gloss, you could also purchase the Revolution Piece of Cake Matte Lipstick too to layer and wear together.
The Revolution Piece of Cake Sheer Lip Gloss was just £3 which is amazing value for money, and I really struggled with what shade to try first as they have so many pretty shades. I really loved the look of Piece of Cake, as it’s a pretty peachy nude which is my everyday kind of lip gloss shade and I knew I’d get a lot of wear out of it. The gloss has a lovely minty scent with a slight tingle on the lips, but it’s impressively pigmented as shown in the swatches above. The gloss feels comfortable on the lips, with no stickiness and I would definitely purchase more shades.
